Ron Anderson’s first drawing still hangs framed at his parents’ house. He refers to the scribbled rabbit, with its bow tie and apple cart, as the beginning. He was born in Houston, but grew up in Corpus Christi along the Texas coast. After receiving a degree in communications, he worked as a graphic designer for ten years before returning to study art at the University of Texas at San Antonio.
Focused primarily on drawing and printmaking, Anderson’s work draws on storytelling and symbolism while stylistically referencing the baroque and art nouveau movements. His most recent work, which has been featured in local group exhibitions, explores ideas related to gender roles and expectations. He currently resides and works in San Antonio.
